Lasantha is a dedicated researcher specializing in offshore seawater pumped storage hydropower technologies, particularly focusing on innovations such as Offshore Energy Islands. His work on the ALPHEUS PROJECT is instrumental in shaping the future grid stability and power storage landscape in Europe.

As a seasoned Project Manager and Specialist in hydropower engineering, Lasantha boasts extensive experience across various facets of hydropower and infrastructure project planning and development. His expertise spans screening and conceptual design of new projects, construction project management, and evaluation of project feasibility, with a notable focus on business development in Asia and East Africa.

Lasantha holds multiple advanced degrees, including Chartered Engineer (CEng/MICE) status after being elected as a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, an MSc in Water Science and Engineering, an MSc in Hydraulic Engineering and River Basin Development, and a background in Civil and Structural Engineering. His educational background provides a solid foundation for his diverse skill set, which includes project estimation, financial evaluation, site surveys, technical appraisal, and contract administration in accordance with International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Standards.

With over 15 years of distinguished experience in the field of engineering, Asoka is a seasoned professional known for his expertise and dedication. Throughout his career, Asoka has held pivotal roles as a Resident Engineer, Civil & Building Maintenance Engineer, and Project Engineer, contributing to projects of significance in Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

One of Asoka's notable accomplishments includes serving as a Resident Engineer, where he conducted design reviews for the Waterfront Integrated Resort Project.

In addition to his academic achievements, Asoka holds a comprehensive range of licenses and certifications that underscore his commitment to excellence and professional development. These include Chartered Engineer, Certificate in Structural Behaviour, Advanced Quantity Surveying Practice & Contracts Management, Membership in the Institute of Construction Claims Practitioners, International Professional Engineer (Sri Lanka), Membership in the Engineering Council Sri Lanka, and Membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers.
